Conn. Ob/gyns scrap plans to levy pregnancy surcharge
A group practice of 150 ob/gyns in Connecticut has abandoned its plan to charge an extra $500 per pregnancy to cover increasing medical liability premiums. The group, Women's Health Connecticut, had threatened to implement the surcharge if state lawmakers failed to pass tort reform, which would help contain costs for medical liability insurance.
