New colposcopes get intensely brighter light

The high-intensity light emitted is in the daylight range, which is said to improve visual contrast while fully illuminating the target area. And the LED lamps' generation of light via semi-conductors keeps the LED scope head cool to the touch, according to the company. Leisegang, the only maker now using an integrated spotlight-based high-intensity LED system, offers its OptiK colposcopes in two versions: the basic Leisegang OptiK Model 1 and the OptiK Model 2 photo-colposcopes, which in addition to routine work are geared for applications requiring visual documentation, like presentations.
