IMA has recruited a team of more than 60 volunteers-doctors, nurses, dentists, and support personnel-for the 10-day medical mission. They will work from August 4 to August 14 in Esteli, Nicaragua.
“We have a very diverse group of volunteers…including general, plastic, and maxillofacial surgeons,” says Ines Allen, founder and president of IMA. “However, we are still looking for 2 specialists in obstetrics and gynecology to complete our team.”
Volunteers pay their own airfare; the Nicaraguan government provides room and board. To volunteer or learn more about IMA’s work, contact Ines Allen at 760-485-8963 or visit www.internationalmedicalalliance.org.
IMA, based in Rancho Mirage, California, recruits volunteers from all medical disciplines to serve children and adults of limited economic means in the United States and abroad.
