In the January 2023 issue of Vaccine Update for Healthcare Providers, Dr. Sean O’Leary, Chair of AAP Committee on Infectious Diseases, answered questions about why CDC and AAP recommendations differ for HPV vaccine. The difference relates to the age at which vaccination is started, with the AAP recommending vaccination beginning at 9 years of age instead of waiting until 11 years of age.
