The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) has released the second part of its update to the clinical practice guideline on histoplasmosis in adults, children, and pregnant individuals. The newest section, posted September 16, 2026, is a consensus statement on initial antifungal treatment of severe pulmonary and disseminated histoplasmosis. It joins 2 recommendations from March 2025 on asymptomatic Histoplasma pulmonary nodules (histoplasmomas) and mild or moderate acute pulmonary histoplasmosis, and together these sections form the first 2 parts of an update to the 2007 IDSA guideline.
