Vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS) often goes untreated until advanced signs of skin damage occur. Treatment with potent topical steroids is aimed at relieving symptoms and preventing further damage. Fractional CO2 lasers, meanwhile, have been shown histologically to improve vaginal tissue and to alleviate self-reported vulvar symptoms of itching and dyspareunia.

This interactive poster, narrated by expert Somi Javaid, MD, FACOG, details a study evaluating a series of fractional CO2 laser treatments to improve clinical signs and architectural changes associated with VLS and, as an adjunctive therapy, to maintain symptomatic control of the disease.
